The New Look of Daybed Bedding
The daybed has long served us as the extra bed should we have an overnight guest. For many years we hid the bed in the spare bedroom, pretending that it was more than a twin bed. The choices available for covers for this unique piece of furniture did little to help us convert it to a sofa by day. In fact, the daybed was almost as obvious as having an elephant in the room. It was too big to look like anything other than a twin bed with a back rail. Those days are gone. Today designers, at last, have realized that we need an extra bed while many of us are limited by space.
It is time to bring the daybed into the family room or the home office. With so many styles from which to choose, there is a wood frame that will fit into any decor. For those who enjoy the shabby chic style, a selection of a metal frame could be the choice. Whatever style one selects, there is now daybed bedding that fits and offers real style.
For the family room, of course, there is the shabby chic style of bedding full of color and floral patterns. Others may be lured into selecting an English country style with a fitted cover, a complementary bed skirt and luxurious pillow shams.
For the home office one could select a more conservative pattern with a stripe or even a solid cover and striped bed skirt. What an excellent addition to the home office. Work a while and then recline on the office bed.
The daybed has also become a favorite primary bed for the kids bedrooms. Boys can select from a camouflage bedding pattern to create a bed by night and a sitting area for studying by day. Girls may select a wild zebra print for their bedroom decor. The selections are so plentiful that any kid can find a color or pattern he or she will like.
When considering an extra bed just in case a guest should arrive or as an updated addition to the teen bedroom, daybeds and updated daybed bedding is a perfect choice.
