Home Remedies for Tooth Pain

If you are suffering from tooth pain, and you can’t reach your dentist, then you need to find out about ways to get  relief from tooth pain at home. Good news for you is, almost any kind of tooth sensitivity and discomfort can be alleviated using some simple tricks. Remember, though, that all these methods are just short-term solutions and do not cure the underlying causes of pain.

You must have heard about such over-the-counter medical products, like ibuprofen (or other NSAIDs), Tylenol, and Excedrin. These medications are used to relieve fever symptoms, back pain, migraine, etc., but can also be used as analgesics. Remember not to mix these drugs, if you don’t know which ones are mixable, that is, and don’t overdose yourself with them. There are more horror stories of damaged kidneys, almost lost lives, etc., so be smart about it. If you are not sure that you understand how to use these drugs – ask a pharmacist beforehand.

Also, clove is a very good natural analgesic. You can rinse your mouth and gargle with warm salt water, and then apply a few pieces of clove to the painful tooth. Squeeze the cloves, and the juices will provide the tooth pain relief for you.

You can also put something cold to the area of pain. For example, people recommend taking a piece of ice, wrap it into some piece of cloth, and apply it to your gum. Ice will take a portion of your nerves’ previous reaction to pain, and this will kind of reduce your toothache. These methods can be used to get abscessed, broken, chipped, wisdom tooth pain relief, and more, but remember to go to a dental office the next day to treat the real causes of toothache.
